Tak je tu v celej svojej dĺžke.. Som sa smial, keďže do cca 150 km/h je na kolesách, tak to zatiaľ pekný autobus ukázali :') Ďalej však už má po novom k dispozícii viac než raz takú dĺžku trate a snáď si nenechajú ujsť možnosť ten vyše 10 rokov starý rekord prekonať, keď už vtedy pri 581 km/h museli začať spomaľovať.

Magnet by mohol zostať 'zavesený' (ak by zemská príťažlivosť nebola silnejšia), ale zároveň by mal aj dosť možnosť po prevrátení skončiť v spojení s druhým veľkým magnetom.

2/12/2013 - HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE, N.M. -- The 846th Test Squadron successfully performed its most ambitious test to date on the magnetic levitation track at Holloman AFB, Feb. 7.
Members of the 846th were able to use the Maglev track in conjunction with a new propulsion system to reach an astounding speed of more than 500 miles per hour.

Graphite has been known as a typical diamagnetic material and can be levitated in the strong magnetic field. Here we show that the magnetically levitating pyrolytic graphite can be moved in the arbitrary place by simple photoirradiation. It is notable that the optical motion control system described in this paper requires only NdFeB permanent magnets and light source.

The optical movement is driven by photothermally induced changes in the magnetic susceptibility of the graphite. Moreover, we demonstrate that light energy can be converted into rotational kinetic energy by means of the photothermal property. We find that the levitating graphite disk rotates at over 200 rpm under the sunlight, making it possible to develop a new class of light energy conversion system.

Central Japan Railway Co. (JR Tokai) unveiled Thursday a new maglev train designed for commercial runs at a test line in Tsuru, Yamanashi Prefecture.

The L0 series cars aren't scheduled to start test runs until an extension of the test line is completed late next year.

JR Tokai said the latest model offers better cabin comfort than the previous test train. The older model's semicylindrical shape was altered to a more boxlike body. Baggage storage was also expanded.

The lead car's nose was shortened by 8 meters to provide more passenger cabin space behind.

The L0 train will undergo examinations in the test facility's yard before the trial runs begin. More cars will eventually be added, bringing the total to 12, a configuration close to what JR Tokai is envisaging for commercial operations.

CHINA'S new medium and low-speed maglev train rolled off the production line yesterday in central China's Hunan Province.
The three-carriage train is designed to run at a maximum speed of 100 kilometers per hour and carry 600 passengers, Xinhua news agency reported, citing Xu Zongxiang, general manager of the manufacturer, Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co Ltd, a division of China South Locomotive and Rolling Stock Corp.
Xu called the train "environmentally friendly," as it's much quieter than conventional trains, with zero emission.
The manager said the company is in talks with some cities about future operations.
China's only maglev line in commercial operation - the world's first - runs in Shanghai, connecting a Metro station to Pudong International Airport. The maglev, put into service at the end of 2002, tops out at 430 kilometers per hour. The 30-kilometer route takes less than eight minutes.
Maglev is short for magnetic levitation. The train can attain high speeds and is quiet because rather than ride on the rails with wheels, it hovers centimeters above the track through the use of magnets.
According to Xu, the company has minimized the risk of the new maglev train derailing or overturning.
"It's ideal for mass transportation, as it is quiet and environmentally friendly," said Xu. "Its manufacturing cost is about 75 percent of a conventional light-rail train."
Railway transport specialist Liu Youmei said the new train is economical and safe. "It can be used for public transport in populous areas and at scenic spots with fragile environments," Liu told Xinhua.
Liu said China is one of a few countries that have applied maglev technology.
"I believe that the project will be accepted by the public, and the future market is huge," Liu said.
But maglev lines have met with controversy. Shanghai residents protested a plan to expand the maglev route in 2008, concerned about radiation and other issues in densely populated downtown areas. The plan was scratched until news emerged in 2010 that a maglev line connecting Shanghai to Hangzhou in neighboring Zhejiang Province had been approved.
Soon the project saw another twist as construction was suspended last year amid the opening of the Shanghai-Hangzhou high-speed railway line, which opened in October 2010. The public questioned the need and high cost of the maglev.
Xinhua also reported that Beijing is building a maglev route, the Daitai line, which will start at an IT center in Haidian District and end in the capital's western outskirts.
The line is scheduled to begin operations next year.

Trochu šialení mi pripadajú byť, ale imho sú si plne vedomí toho, že ich zmýšľanie patrí o pekných pár rokov ďalej. Najmä to porovnanie so železnicou je akoby z roku 2222 (alebo aspoň 2111 :") Ale páči sa mi na tom, že niekto furmuluje levitujúce individuálne tuby vo vákuu. Imho vážne vrchol toho, čo je technológia schopná dosiahnuť.
A viem si predstaviť aj menšie (mestské, domáce) priemery rúr. Pre bežné zásielky a donášky tovaru by to vedelo byť skvelé - ak by tovar dorazil do niekoľkých minút po objednaní, či ak by sme si mohli napr. z domu poslať foťák do parku v rámci siete verejných koncových staníc. Odtiaľ by sa dalo mnohé presne posielať do jednotlivých pripojených destinácií. Takáto forma doručovania tovarov by mohla mestá odľahčiť o pekný podiel na doprave. A od menšieho formátu sa dá ľahšie prehrýzť k niečomu väčšiemu. Ľudia sa naprieč kontinentmi rýchlosťou 6000 km/h prepravovať len na základe vízie tak skoro nebudú.
