francúzsky recept z roku 1855 :
Macerujte 2.5 kg sušeného pelyňku, 5 kg anýzu a 5 kg fenyklu v 95 l 85% lihu. Nechte směs namáčet nejméně 12 hodin v dvojitém kotli. Přidejte 45 l vody a zahřejte; shromážděte 95 l destilátu. Do 40 l destilátu přidejte 1 kg Římského pelyňku, 1 kg yzopu lékařského a 500 g citrónového balzámu, vše sušené a najemno rozdělené. Za mírné teploty extrahujte, pak destilát přečerpejte, přefiltrujte a slijte se zbývajícími 55 litry. Zřeďte vodou, abyste dostali přibližně 100 l absintu s výslednou koncentrací alkoholu 74%
