Vážení kolegové,

dovolujeme si vás pozvat na přednášku maďarského profesora Petera Csermelyho,
která se bude konat v pátek 16. dubna v aule /FSS MU na Jostove/ od 11.00 hod. Název přednášky,
vedené v anglickém jazyce, zní "How do networks help us to survive crisis, and
to live a creative, successful life?"

Peter Csermely je profesorem na univerzitě Semmelweis v Budapešti, dříve
působil na několika univerzitách po celém světě, včetně výzkumu na Bostonském
Harvardu. Polem jeho působení je molekulární biologie a teorie sítí, kde
narazil na koncepci slabých síťových vazeb, na níž založil svou knihu "Weak
links, Stabilizers of Complex Systems from Proteins to Social Networks." V této
knize srozumitelně vysvětluje principy multidisciplionární teorie komplexních
systémů. Tento přístup se vyvinul z teorie chaosu a vysvětluje nelineární
dynamiku nejrůznějších systémů, např. z oboru biologie, etologie, ekonomiky,
meteorologie a konečně i věd sociálních, jako je sociologie či psychologie. Pro
hledání univerzálních principů fungování přirozených systémů napříč
nejrůznějšími obory má tento vědecký přístup potenciál oslovit každého
akademika, který preferuje celostní přístup ke své sféře zájmu.
Peter publikoval několik knih a desítky vědeckých výzkumů, je držitelem řady
vědeckých ocenění a rovněž založil program Network of Youth Excellence pro
podporu nadaných studentů ve 33 zemích světa. Další informace o jeho osobě a

The festival’s exhibition ‚Future Obscura’, by transmediale
guest curator Honor Harger presents artworks that use the materials,
mechanisms and machines of image-making to illuminate and define our
relationship with atemporality - the collision of past, present and

Keiko od roku 1998 do roku 2002 pôsobila jako pedagogička na FaVU VUT v Brne, bola kurátorkou výstav ako napr. The Media Are With Us (Budapesť, 1990), Ostranenie (Dessau, 1993), Ex Oriente Lux (Bukurešť, 1994), Orbis Fictus (Praha, 1995) a vyučovala tiež v Kazachstane (1999). Faculty voted unanimously this week to approve a resolution that allows MIT to freely and publicly distribute research articles they write. MIT plans to create a repository to make these articles available online.

The resolution, effective immediately after it was passed on Wednesday, makes MIT the first university to commit to making its faculty’s research papers publicly available. Though the School of Education at Stanford and several departments at Harvard have already adopted these policies, MIT is the first entire university to make this pledge.

The open-access rule will only apply to articles published since Wednesday.
