...na pocátku 90. let se bratri Gallagherové z prumyslového Manchesteru zacali zabývat spolecnou myšlenkou na založení skupiny. 23 letý Noel sbíral zkušenosti jako bednák manchesterských Inspiral Carpets, zatím co jeho o pet let mladší bratr Liam se chopil mikrofonu a dal s kamarády, kytaristou Paulem "Boneheadem" Arthursem, basistou Paulem McGuiganem a bubeníkem Tonym McCarrolem, dohromady kapelu nazvanou Rain. Když se Noel vrátil z mimobritské šnury, pridal se ke skupine, která se rázem prekrtila na Oasis...

Oasis have been put into the record books again with the publication of the 2010 Guinness Book of World Records.

The band enter the book for the second time by setting the 'Longest Top 10 UK Chart Run By A Group' notching up an unprecedented 22 successive Top 10 hits in the UK.

Oasis previously entered the record book for being 'The Most Successful Act of the Decade' between 1995 and 2005 by spending 765 weeks in the Top 75 singles and albums charts.

Dearly beloved, it is with a heavy heart and a sad face that I say this to you this morning.

As of last Friday the 28th August, I have been forced to leave the Manchester rock'n'roll pop group Oasis.

The details are not important and of too great a number to list. But I feel you have the right to know that the level of verbal and violent intimidation towards me, my family, friends and comrades has become intolerable. And the lack of support and understanding from my management and band mates has left me with no other option than to get me cape and seek pastures new.

I would like firstly to offer my apologies to them kids in Paris who'd paid money and waited all day to see us only to be let down AGAIN by the band. Apologies are probably not enough, I know, but I'm afraid it's all I've got.

While I'm on the subject, I'd like to say to the good people of V Festival that experienced the same thing. Again, I can only apologise - although I don't know why, it was nothing to do with me. I was match fit and ready to be brilliant. Alas, other people in the group weren't up to it.

In closing I would like to thank all the Oasis fans, all over the world. The last 18 years have been truly, truly amazing (and I hate that word, but today is the one time I'll deem it appropriate). A dream come true. I take with me glorious memories.

Now, if you'll excuse me I have a family and a football team to indulge.

I'll see you somewhere down the road. It's been a fuckin' pleasure.

Noel Gallagher oznámil, že končí s kapelou Oasis

Londýn 29. augusta (TASR) - Britská rocková formácia Oasis stojí pred rozpadom. Gitarista a skladateľ skupiny Noel Gallagher v piatok oznámil, že končí s kapelou, keďže pre dlhotrvajúce spory už ďalej nemôže spolupracovať so svojim bratom Liamom.

Noel, ktorý je zakladajúcim členom skupiny, to vyhlásil na webovej stránke Oasis. Kapelu opúšťa s "ľútosťou a veľkou úľavou".

"Jednoducho som už nemohol ani o deň viac pokračovať v spolupráci s Liamom," uviedol gitarista a príležitostný spevák. Ospravedlnil sa pritom ľuďom, ktorí si kúpili lístky na koncerty skupiny v Paríži, Kostnici a Miláne.

Oasis mali dnes hrať na rockovom festivale v Paríži, fanúšikovia sa ich však nedočkali. Skupina zrušila vystúpenie pre "ostré spory v kapele".

WOLE KURVA! no pekne. Pred desatrocim by som z toho zomieral, dnes suhlasim mike_x, po be here now to boli vazne uz len sracky (1 - 2 vynimky), takze aspon je srackam koniec a je to jasne. Z hladiska historie a fanusikov je to ale skoda, fakt dufam ze to bude mat aj kreativne-pozitivnu stranku - teda ze jediny kto tam kedy vedel tvorit, noele, da dokopy este par pocuvatelnych veci.

plus: mňa prekvapujúco koncert, ktorý nebol ani nudný, ani odfláknutý, ani trápny, ale dobre zvládnutý, s hlavou a pätou a dokonca aj emóciami, nezvyčajne komunikatívny a (áno!) sympatický liam, noel stále vo forme, slide away a supersonic, ktoré som od nich live ešte nepočula (alebo si to nepamätám) a fakt, že stále jednoducho, bez pomoci ohňostrojov a delami rozprašovaných konfiet dokážu zabaviť vypredanú halu

mínus: najviac netolerantní, hlúpi a ignorantskí fanúšikovia, akých som kedy na koncertoch zažila
